About this issuance
Solar + Storage Montenegro 01 is a 4 MWp solar park with a 2 MW / 4 MWh battery on the Zeta plain, south of Podgorica. The area receives around 1,700 kWh/m² of irradiation a year, among the highest in the western Balkans. Montenegro uses the euro, is an EU accession candidate, and is connected to the Italian grid through the Italy–Montenegro subsea interconnector, which links local prices to one of the larger and more expensive power markets in Europe. The country is still early in building out solar, so well-located sites with grid capacity are available at attractive terms. The battery stores low-cost daytime output and releases it in the evening, when regional prices peak. Each Energy Unit gives economic exposure to around 550 Wp of solar capacity and 1 kWh of storage plus a proportional share of common infrastructure.
